Verify Your Voter Registration

Register to Vote

In Ohio, you can register to vote online. To register online or update your voter registration information, visit OLVR.Ohiosos.gov. You will need to provide the following:

  • Ohio driver’s license or Ohio identification card number
  • Name
  • Date of Birth
  • Address
  • Last four digits of your Social Security number

If you do not have any portion of the required information, follow this link to update your voting address using this paper form (PDF). Once you complete this form, you must sign and either stamp and mail it or drop it off to your county board of elections. Requesting an Absentee Ballot (by mail)

Here’s how to request an absentee ballot in Franklin County:

Visit vote.franklincountyohio.gov. Select Absentee Voting, and you’ll see the link to Apply for An Absentee Ballot.

You must then print, sign, and return the completed form to the Board of Elections either by mail or by bringing the form to the Board of Elections. There is no option to submit the form online.

In Franklin County, the address to send your completed and signed form is:

You can also drop the signed absentee ballot request form at your Board of Elections. In Franklin County, the Board of Elections is located at 1700 Morse Rd.

You can also call the Franklin County Board of Elections at 614-525-3100 if you have any questions about absentee voting by mail.

You can track your absentee ballot request and your actual absentee ballot by going to franklincountyohio.ballottrax.net and register. They will notify you when they receive your absentee ballot request, when they send out your ballot, and when they receive your returned ballot.

If you live elsewhere in Ohio, visit the Ohio Secretary of State’s Absentee Voting page at https://www.ohiosos.gov/elections/voters/absentee-voting/ or your local county Board of Elections, or call 1-877-767-6446. The Ohio Absentee ballot request form can be found at this link. Fill out the required information and mail to or drop off to your county’s Board of Elections. Returning Your Absentee Ballot

Your absentee ballot should be mailed back or returned to your county Board of Elections as soon as possible.

You or a family member can return the sealed and signed ballot to your county Board of Elections secure dropbox by 7:30 pm on Election Day. Family members include any of the following: the spouse of the elector, the father, mother, father-in-law, mother-in-law, grandfather, grandmother, brother, or sister of the whole or half blood, or the son, daughter, adopting parent, adopted child, stepparent, stepchild, uncle, aunt, nephew, or niece of the elector.

Do not return your absentee ballot to your polling place! Return your absentee ballot by mail or in person to your county Board of Elections by 7:30 pm on Election Day.
